Each year, the Keowee Key Golf and Country Club hosts a group of around 40 Marines as part of a “Honoring Their Service” event. The group hails from Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, N.C. along with the South Carolina “Wounded Warrior Regiment”. The festivities start with an extended parade with hundreds of motor cycle riders accompanying the group as a colorful honor guard and escort along with literally thousands of South Carolinians waving flags, tooting horns and showing their appreciation. All are here for some well deserved rest, relaxation and fun. The residents of Keowee Key welcome these soldiers into their homes each year and honor...
