Our Top 5 Parks List For South Carolina includes:

South Cove County Park

First place goes to South Cove County Park. Brand new pickleball courts, tennis courts, new playgrounds, and a brand new expanded number of RV camping areas with breathtaking views are just a few of the reasons why The Cason Group Keller Williams Seneca serving North Lake Keowee rank this county park at the top.

Oconee State Park in Mountain Rest, South Carolina.

2nd Place goes to Oconee State Park in Mountain Rest, South Carolina. With more than 1100 acres accompanied with several waterfalls, this park offers tourists a beautiful drive. For those who love to hike, we recommend starting here at this park. The park also serves as the western terminus for the 85-mile Foothills Trail, which crosses the state’s crown and ends at Jones Gap State Park. Seniors can get state park pass discounts. The best in Swimming, hiking, fishing, and boating are found right here in Oconee County, South Carolina.

Devils Fork State Park

The Cason Group We Sell Keowee #TheKeoweeLife rank Devils Fork State Park 3rd out of the Top 5. Visitors get to experience the scenic Cherokee Parkway.  The best kayaking and canoeing spots are at Devils Fork State Park. Hikers will adore the northwestern eastern edge of the Sumter National Forest as it butts up to the edge of the beautiful crystal water of the 7,500-acre Lake Jocassee.
Lake Jocassee is a beautiful 7,500 acre reservoir created by Duke Energy for their nuclear power plant in 1973. The state park has stunning waterfalls, trails, and campsites along the lake.

You can reserve cabins or campsites, but make is to schedule well in advance. Bring your water craft or rent one to get to the waterfalls. I would highly recommend taking a tour of the lake; it is the best way to see the waterfalls and extremely educational! For your best trip here, you will need to plan ahead.

The natural beauty of the lake, mountains, and forest make Devil’s Fork State Park well worth the trip to South Carolina.

Keowee Toxaway State Park

The fourth in our Top 5 State Parks in South Carolina is Keowee Toxaway State Park. This is what we call our backcountry expert campers park for trailside camping. Raven Rock hiking trail offers stunning views of Blue Ridge. Great boathouse facilities, tent pads, 10 RV spots for remote glamping, and 4 mile hikes for breathtaking views. Great park rangers and well maintained camping areas make this a must camp site. This state park is ideal for older hiker and nature lovers with easy access and short hikes.x
Even Hollywood loves South Carolina. Several celebrities live on lakes in South Carolina. #Lakelife and the best fishing if you enjoy catching blue gill, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Yellow Perch, and Spotted Bass.

Chau Ram County Park

Last but not least in the 5th out of 5 rankings is Chau Ram County Park. We take our grandkids here as it is just 20 minutes or so from Seneca and it has everything.  The children have a fantastic playground that overlooks a beautiful stream that connects to Chau Ram Falls. Our grandchildren enjoy the suspension bridge and also enjoy a nice trail walk no matter what age. The main attractions of the park include a handicap accessible 40 foot waterfall cascading over large boulders as the Ramsey Creek flows into the Chauga River and a 160 foot suspension bridge spanning the Chauga River. Tubing, hiking, fishing, picnicking, camping and sight- seeing are routine activities enjoyed by visitors. We enjoy grabbing food and going out for a picnic for the day. Chau Ram has a great swimming area and the water stays very cool all through the hot humid South Carolina summers.
