Seneca, Salem, and Walhalla, SC

These nearby towns offer plenty of shopping and dining just minutes from Lake Keowee homes. Try The Lighthouse, Vangelis Bistro, Paesanos, or Lakeside Lodge for fine dining. Or enjoy more casual fare at Black’s BBQ, Joe’s Pizza, The Spot, or Mountain View. Look for antiques in downtown Seneca or Walhalla. Stop for a drink at the Wine Bar in Walhalla or Keowee Brewery in Seneca. There are plenty of places locally to enjoy the best of food, drink, and shopping.

Clemson, SC

Home of the 2016 and 2018 National Football Champion Clemson Tigers, this small university town offers visitors a rich cultural experience with opportunities for art exhibits, dramas and musicals, and exciting sporting events. Spend an afternoon wandering through the state botanical garden, or play a round of golf on the University course.

Jocassee Gorges and Lake Jocassee

Named as one of National Geographic’s 50 Last Great Places on Earth, the Jocassee Gorges is located just north of Lake Keowee, and includes Devil’s Fork State Park, Eastatoe Creek Heritage Preserve, Twin Falls, Sassafras Mountain, and is home to the rare bell-shaped wildflower called the Oconee Bells.

Cashiers and Highlands, NC

Just a short drive from Lake Keowee, the beautiful quaint towns of Cashiers and Highlands NC offer a shopping and dining center where you can spend a pleasant day wandering through the eclectic shops and choose to eat at a variety of bistros or restaurants. These towns are surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest where you can encounter a true mountain experience.

Asheville, NC

Just a short hour’s drive from Lake Keowee, Asheville is a beautiful metropolitan city full of exciting things to do and explore. Take a drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway, eat at one of the many upscale restaurants, visit the Biltmore House, or shop in the art district.

Greenville, SC

Forty miles to the east of Lake Keowee, Greenville, SC is a thriving, dynamic city with lots of shops, restaurants and cultural opportunities to keep you entertained during your visit. Take in a spring or summer baseball game with the Greenville Drive, stroll around downtown’s waterfront Reedy Park, or take a history tour. Your visit to this beautiful city will be enjoyable no matter what you choose to do!
