Boating
From the early morning until the sun sets in the evening, boaters will enjoy cruising the expansive open waters with perfect conditions for a variety of watersports, including tubing, skiing, wake boarding or wake surfing. With easy access to quiet coves, boaters may stop and enjoy a picnic lunch or a refreshing swim. Those who love to sail can connect with the Keowee Sailing Club.
Two public marinas are located on the lake Keowee Marina, on the south end of the lake, provides gas as well as boat and watersports equipment rentals as well as boat sales and maintenance. Sunset Marina (https://www.sunsetonkeowee.com/), on the north end, includes a fuel dock, general store, ramp and docking, and luxury boat rentals.
Kayaks, Canoes, and Paddleboards
Lake Keowee is perfect for a relaxed time of paddling your kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. You will experience the pleasure of getting your exercise while appreciating the peaceful sounds of the gentle waters and chirping birds as you explore the coves and fingers of the lake.
Fishing
Young and old, fishermen LOVE Lake Keowee! Large mouth bass, spotted bass, and channel catfish are most common in the lake, and the deep clear waters can provide fishermen of all levels of experience an enjoyable challenge. Swimming
Many Lake Keowee waterfront homes are located in quiet coves which allows for swimming and water play away from the main channel boat traffic. With its many fingers and coves, there are plenty of places to enjoy a refreshing swim!
Golf, Tennis, and Pickleball
The Reserve, Cliffs and Keowee Key communities each have beautiful golf courses and great tennis and pickleball facilities for members. There are also several public golf courses in the area, including Falcon’s Lair, Cross Creek, Oconee Country Club, and at nearby Clemson University. There are also well-maintained public tennis and pickleball facilities in Seneca and Clemson. Many of the Crescent Community neighborhoods also have pools and tennis courts for residents’ use.
With more than 100 waterfalls in Upstate South Carolina, there is always a new place to walk or hike and enjoy the beauty of your natural surroundings. Many sites only require a gentle stroll; others will challenge the most experienced hikers. Within a short drive, and with many trail heads in the area, hikers can find numerous opportunities to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounding areas.

Stumphouse Tunnel
Stumphouse Tunnel, in Walhalla, SC, was dug using hand tools prior to the Civil War, but never completed. Approximately 1/4 mile of the tunnel is open to the public. The tunnel maintains a constantly cool temperature of 50 degrees year-round. Issaqueena Falls is also located near the Stumphouse Tunnel.
