GREENVILLE, S.C. —
Greenville continues to make best-of lists of various kinds, and now it is included in Conde Nast Travelers’ top five places in the U.S. to retire.
Lake Keowee is a mere 35 miles from this great city and host a myriad of lake side communities that are an awesome target for retirement, with low cost real-estate, low taxes, super climate and the advantage of close proximity to a top ranked University. Clemson is the catalyst for high quality sports, dining, lifelong learning potential and cultural events.
Mark Ellwood, of Conde Nast Traveler, joined Craig Ferguson and Kathie Lee Gifford on NBC’s Today Show with a list of the top five places in the U.S. to retire, particularly for baby boomers.
When Ellwood described the city as a “foodie hub” where you can “eat your way through retirement,” Ferguson correctly guess he was talking about Greenville. When he did, Griffin’s comment was, “That’s a lovely place.”
Ellwood mentioned that there are 100 restaurants within a mile of downtown, that there is “great healthcare” and “lots of trees.” He also mentioned that Social Security benefits are tax exempt.
